Why Nürburgring Nordschleife?
Big Races are held around the world, but ask any automotive enthusiast about which race track is the home of speed, and the Nürburgring is always the first track they think of.
For us, as well as enthusiasts around the world, it’s become a place where friends are always ready to greet you warmly, where the smell of burnt fuel and the sound of high powered engines is part of the experience. It can’t be copied or replicated; it’s a truly unique place where dreams come true and memories last forever. We love the Nürburgring, this incredible, green paradise, and we invite you to share our pleasure in being a part of this awe-inspiring environment.
The International Home Of Big RacesAs early as 1925, when ADAC Eifelrennen races were hosted on public roads, a group of companies decided to build a race track. Investors gladly came on board the project, which was to be a showcase of German automotive engineering and racing talent, and which in two years gave birth to a motorsport hub on a scale that few had ever experienced, the Nürburgring.
The track was transformed, year by year, originally starting out as a 73-turn track built for speed. Over the course of the last 95 years, the track has evolved to where it is today, with the Nürburgring Nordschleife being the world’s longest race track at 20.8 km in length. It’s a mighty feat of engineering and something that could not ever be built again to the same standard — but there’s no need to try and rebuilt it when it’s already here for us to enjoy. For more than 90 years, the Nürburgring has developed into a Mecca for all things automobile, catering to everything directly or indirectly related to motorsports, motor cars, and the driving experience.
The Nürburgring has become a central hub for automotive development, surrounded by the hype of camouflaged test cars and insane lap records. More than 40 companies carry out trials on the famous circuit, including Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Audi, Porsche, and many more. Mercedes-AMG transferred most of its Affalterbach employees to a large development centre where the newest AMG performance models are engineered. Porsche uses the Nordschleife for the development of not only incredible road and track cars, but also the future of electric sports cars.
The demand for use of the Ring facilities continues to grow as manufacturers the world over begin to value and understand the unique traits that make the Nürburgring the perfect place to test and develop new cars. With 154 corners and more than 300 metres of elevation change, as well as various surfaces, the track is the most grueling test of every aspect of a car, from its tyres to complex engineering solutions like transmissions, suspension, and importantly, engines. The Green Hell is a true haven for automotive engineers.
Tourist Driver Or Track Days?
But despite all the development action going on, the Nürburgring complex is spacious enough to accommodate enthusiasts of all types. When test prototypes are on cooldown, the track opens its arms wide to welcome all visitors and show off the full breadth of its abilities and challenges.
